Absolutely everything you want to know about abdominoplasty ** Read Chapter 1**** hapter 2y Results at 3-Months Post Tummy Tuck: 18" Inches Lost!**** My Tummy Tuck Results are more than I Expected**My new body at 3-1/2 months post tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) ** changed me physically and attitudinally**. I felt so alive these past two weeks spent back home vacationing at the Jersey shore. This is what summer always has been, and always will be for me: Sun, waves, and friends. Funny that it took my moving 700-miles to the Midwest to fully appreciate with all my heart what I have had all along. Without question, my renewed pleasure in my body had a profoundly positive impact on my feelings.
Across the decades I have been every size, from a junior size 7 to a women’s size 24. As of today, 3-1/2 months post tummy tuck, I hover at a misses’ size 8. Down the shore, as I lay sprawled across my beach chair a few friends arrived and asked, "What are you doing?" I replied, "Pretending I am 19 again," to which he replied, "It works!" Later as I dove into the onslaught of waves during high tide, my husband asked, "What are you giggling about?" I laughed, "This is fun!" Life is more delicious this way.
I’ve dropped 18" and 18-lbs. 3-months after Abdominoplasty
I was probably 19 or 20 years old the last time that I wore a two-piece bathing suit. Thanks to the 18 inches and 18 lbs. that I have lost from my tummy tuck, decades later I am able to wear a two-piece once again.
Other fashion splurges have included body-hugging skirts and dresses; oh they are so yummy. I have a great story – the other day in Loft I tried on the perfect little black dress. The young, shapely, and pretty sales clerk said, "Wow. That looks great on you." I have heard this numerous times since my tummy tuck and it makes me feel terrific each and every time.
Oh, I also have spent a small fortune on sexy panties – and they’ve been worth every dollar. Mostly all that I wear when I am in my house are Jockey Shapewear tanks with bikinis, thongs, or boy short panties.
Jersey Girls: Best Friends Forever
Back home in Jersey I met up with all of my girlfriends. There are seven of us that have been friends since high school. They have seen me through thick and thin (literally and figuratively-speaking). So, I was delighted to tell them all about my tummy tuck. And my new body is girlfriend tested and approved! In fact a few of them asked if I had my T&A done, too. I did not; my now smaller waist and tummy accentuate rather than hide the contours of my breasts and buttocks.
And finally after 10-years of secrecy, I told my besties that I had had gastric bypass surgery in 2003. I always was ashamed of this: That there was some defect in me that had caused me to eat myself into morbid obesity and that only a major re-routing of my digestive system enabled me to fix myself. Telling them was freeing for me, and they took the news so very in-stride. In hindsight I did not need to hide it from them. They always have loved me no matter what.
A Time for Change
I grew up early, getting married at age 19 and having my daughter at 21 years of age. I put myself through college, my husband through college, and my daughter through college. I’ve seen the two most beloved members of my family through years of medical crises. I devoted many hours to my career and worked hard to achieve a level of professional success. Life takes it tolls. Now "all I want to do is have some fun. I have a feeling the party has just begun" - Cheryl Crow.
Stay tuned for some major changes underway. I am in full bloom to life and experiences.
Abdomen and Waist Contouring after Massive Weight Loss
Likely you are wondering where I lost the 18 inches and 18-lbs. Here’s the big reveal: 8" from my waist, 6" from my lower abdomen, and 4" from my hips. I went from my size 14 jeans being tight pre-op to size 8 jeans fitting just fine at 3-1/2 months post-op. That’s a good size for my 5’7" frame and I do not want to get any smaller. As for the weight loss, 6-lbs. was removed during the tummy tuck and the rest I lost afterwards. Thanks to the tightening of my lax abdominal muscle fascia I am no longer able to eat as much as I could pre-tummy tuck.
