I am a non diabetic but come from a family of diabetics so I keep an eye on my blood sugar levels. It appears that my levels are normal in that After I eat my levels never go higher than 140 and are back down in about 2.5 hrs. my level prior to meals is below 100. But i do have one concern and that is that my morning fasting levels are usually around 107 to 109. I normally eat lunch around Noon and eat nothing else between lunch and breakfast at 6 am. Could this extended fast be effecting my fasting blood sugar level?
Hello! I want to congratulate you for checking your bg’s (blood sugar) because of your family history, that is one of the only ways to catch Diabetes other than knowing the signs. Your fasting bg’s are pretty good. Have you been experiencing extreme thirst, loosing weight and or urinating a lot? If you have any of those symptoms you should see your Physician. If you are worried about your fasting bg’s you should also talk to your Physician, he or she would be able to run the necessary test to determine if you are indeed a diabetic. Gretchen Becker (Expert) wrote a sharepost “Normal glucose”, she talks about the Norm. Good luck and keep taking care of yourself.
