Answer

Hi: Heart Surgery Recipient.

I have posted a blog post regarding skipped beats you may want to look at it. The first step is to find out what kind of palpitation you have. Your doctor can order a 24 hour heart monitor to discover if this is PVC's, PAC's, or another cardiac rhythm problems.

Often it takes a while for the heart to adapt to the new valve. It may be that you have simple skipped beats and don't need to be concerned. Take your pulse to see if your heart races (greater than 100 beats a minute) or is just skipping.

If you have racing, or slowing or are concerned, contact your doctor and they can order the tests to determine what type of rhythm problem you have.
