Pain Caused By Orgasm

Hello I am 26 years old, married and have one child age 4. Recently (last 3-4 months) I have been having a problem with pain that is brought on by an orgasm. Once I start to have an orgasm I feel a sharp stabbing pain on the lower left side of my abdomen, always in the same spot. After the orgasm the pain goes away but is tender for a while. I have also noticed that I am sometimes spotting a little after sex, but not all the time. My periods are normal, always on time. The only reason I worry about this pain is because it is becoming very regular. Every time I orgasim it happens. Please advise as I dont have a clue what this could mean. Also, I do not and have never had an STD.

Dear York,

Since it appear to be a problem that is regular and not going away, the best thing to do is go to your OB/GYN. It appears that there are several potential causes for abdominal pain after orgasm, including ovarian cysts and a tilted or prolapsed uterus (and I'm sure there are more reasons). I'm certainly not saying that you have one of these conditions, I'm just saying it sounds important to get yourself to the doctor.
