It almost feels like my muscles in my shoulder, arm and neck are just sore, but the pain stemming from my left breast is really bothering me. I have had an IUD for 4 yrs now and never noticed any of these problems before.

Answer

Meg, this kind of severe, radiating pain on the left side can be a sign of cardiac issues. Although it seems to come and go in synch with your period - and that might point instead to a hormonal issue, or a large cyst -; I think it's worth your while to describe these symptoms to your doctor, and see what s/he says. So make an appointment, OK? Take care- PJH
