I Have Pain In My Left Side Waist Area.

I have pain in my left side waist area. The pain is only in the waist and hip area - I have no pain in my back at all. It only hurts when I sit down or get up to walk and it lasts about four minutes. Do you know what it can be?

Answer

Some people with diverticulitis get pain on their left side. Gas or digestive problems can cause this and probably several other things as well. Other culprits might be back problems, pulled muscles, or a number of other conditions. Any time you experience sudden onset pain like this, it’s good to see your GP right away.
