I Have Pain In My Upper Abdomen Mostly On My Right Side And It Is Now Radiating Round To My Back

and hurts more when i breathe in i have had stomach aches for a few months now which are mild but last upto a week or more and make me queezy, I took some medication for IBS but it had no effect, im getting worried, i have a doctors appointment on monday but any ideas what this could be?

Answer

Has anyone looked at your gallbladder? Gallbladders frequently cause right upper abdomen pain which can hurt more when you breathe because when your diaphragm moves it puts pressure on your gall bladder.

It's also possible you are have pain from stomach irritation.

I am glad you are going to the doctor though, she will be able to do a thorough exam and get you pointed in the right direction even if she doesn't immediately have the answer.
