Are Peanuts & Nuts A Acid Reflux Friendly Food?

Answer

Unfortunately the answer is it depends. For many of us, myself included, nuts are a good food as while they are high in fat it is healthy fat and nuts are a good protein source.

Here's a link to more specific information about fats in foods and how it relates to reflux:

So, it will depend highly on whether or not you have issues with the fat content or if your body has a particularly difficult time digesting the nuts. The best way to keep track of this is to try them and monitor your symptoms. Then try it a few more times and see if you have the same issues which may be good or bad. This food log can be a very useful way to target what foods are and are not working for us.

I had always known that coffee is an issue for many if not most refluxers. But, I drank decaf and just assumed it was the caffeine that was the issue. I then realized that with increased decaf coffee consumption came an increased need for Zantac supplementation of my daily Prevacid. So, I had to scale back on my coffee consumption particularly when I'm in a bad spell.
