Can Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome Cause Heart Palpitations

I am 49 yrs old. I have never had infertility or other symptoms of PCOS. I thought I was going through meno pause--I've had hot flashes. I had an ablation so I don't menstruate. Now I started having palpitations. So I went to my Gyn. and had some bloodwork. TSH and hormone levels. She said my labs show I have PCOS. I've never tested posotive for this in my past. SOOO I'm wondering cause I thought PCOS was a young woman's lifetime disease. I've never had any real issues before now other than heavy menses in my early 40's hence the ablation.

I'm afraid your question is outside my area of expertise. I did some searching and found a couple of women in different forums that mentioned starting to get heart palpitations just before or after being diagnosed with PCOS. However, I haven't been able to find anything from reputible medical sources that mentions there being a relationship between PCOS and heart palpitations. That doesn't necessarily mean there's no connection; it just means heart palpitations are not considered to be a symptom of PCOS.

I did find a PCOS forum on a site that seems to be overseen by health experts, so perhaps you could find others who have had a similar experience and get more information -; PCOS Community

Good luck to you. I hope you find the information you need.
