Is It Possible Or Even Heard Of That Sitting In A Warm Jacuzzi Can Trigger Migraines?

I normally get in the jacuzzi to help me unwind, relax. Lately (since my headaches have become a daily occurance/changed in general nature) I've noticed that a slight headache has turned into a monster migraine after only a short time in a moderately warm spa. Of course I'm avoiding the jacuzzi like the plague now, though I'm very curious about the relation, if any, between the bubbles/jets, warm water and it's apparent effect on my headaches. Any ideas?

Answer

Hi Estella,

Have you had a discussion that your "headaches have become a daily occurance/changed in general nature" yet? That would be the the first and most important thing to do. Anytime we have a change in pattern, symptom, severity or frequency in our head pain we need to let our doctor know.

I'm not sure about the warm water in a jacuzzi triggering a Migraine attack. Have you switched chemicals in it? I know some people are sensitive to chlorine which can trigger an attack.

Good luck

Nancy
