I Would Like To Raise My Total Cholesterol Count, mine Is Low 120 !!!

I have had low cholesterol since I can remember. My HDL andLDL are within range. I am tall and very slender, always have been.I am 60 years old and take no medications, but I am concerned about my low cholesrerol. My Doctor told me I should be bragging about it!! Thats how much faith I have in him. Is there anything I can do to get my count up?? Liver Cleanse?? I have read a lot of info about the dangers of low cholesterol and would like to raise mine to at least 150-175. Can you help?

Answer

Hi Skip,

If you have always had a total cholesterol level of around 120 mg/dl and you do not experience any of the symptoms associated with low cholesterol (such as depression) then your level of 120 may be right for you.

However, if you are concerned I'd recommend taking steps to raise HDL cholesterol levels which will lead to an increase in your total cholesterol.
