Recipe Makeover: Blueberry Coffee Cake

Traditional coffee cake recipes are loaded with sugar and butter, so they're not the healthiest way to start your day. This recipe makes a few smart swaps and cuts calories and fat without sacrificing any of the taste. Here's how you do it:

Reduce butter by half and replace it with applesauce.

Substitute regular sour cream with nonfat.

Add berries for increased flavor and nutrition.

Use less streusel topping.

Use half the amount of almonds.
