Rheumatoid Arthritis Triggers:can A Fall Or Accident Give You Ra? Request Studies, Articles, Help!

Rheumatoid Arthritis triggers: I fell up some steps and NOW I am told that I have sever RA! I don't believe the Doctor, so much pain! Can you get this RA from a fall? Here is my long story short! I really need some help, some advice, perhaps some understanding. If you know of any articles on our RA from a fall or an accident - perhaps if I can see if anyone else got RA from a Fall...my brain functions but my Body does not! I am not lazy, just a ‘vegetable'! Some details: brief: - I fell up these steps! A very bad fall! This was in the summer of 2005 - so I ended up, after this fall, with this diagnosis of sever RA! So much PAIN! Of course I being this strong independent female said that this isn't right! After 5 years,NOW on Remacaid IV Infusions ,Metrotrate, Folic Acid, Blood Pressure Pills, steroids, hydro & morphine & Lyrica - and fatigue - I am trying to figure out still - are these doctors RIGHT? All this from my fall?... Can anyone help me? Do you have any articles, studies; perhaps even if you have had an accident, developed this RA? This is my first year up so that I can see if these Doctors are right! If I can see it in print or from someone else? I just want my 'old' body back! Thank you for letting me talks! God Bless.

Answer

Someone on our RA site -; MyRACentral.com -; can probably give you more information than I can, but I did find one study indicating that physical trauma may have a role in the onset of RA. Here's a link: A case-control study examining the role of physical trauma in the onset of rheumatoid arthritis
