Is It Safe To Take Prilosec And Zantac At The Same Time?
My son is in the military and has been prescribed Zantac, Prilosec and Reglan simultaneously. I'm concerned about the combined affect of Prilosec and Zantac. Is this safe?
It is important to take the Prilosec on an empty stomach 30 minutes before a meal. In addition, the Zantac needs to be given at a separate time than the Zantac. While both medications reduce acid, they work in different ways. Sometimes the doctor recommends the Prilosec (PPI) in the am and the Zantac at night.
Reglan has some new black box warnings from the FDA so read the info on this site and my blog with the newest information.
