Can Seroquel Cause Liver Or Kidney Damage.

Answer

Hi judylynnh,

Seroquel like any other drug used long-term can cause liver or kidney damage. it is one of many, many drugs with this side effect. All the atypicals could cause liver or kidney damage. You have to weigh the benefit of being free of psychosis against the risk of liver or kidney damage. Though I could understand if there is a history of liver or kidney problems in your family.

This is why your primary care doctor (internist, GP, whatever you choose to call him or her) will regularly do bloodwork on you to determine if there are any potential problems. I have my boodwork checked every three months.

Regards,

Christina
