Sharp Mild Pain In Lower Chest On Left Side.not To Painful But Noticeable, similar To Heart Burn.

I am having sharp, mild pain in my lower chest on the left side. It's not too painful but it's definitely noticeable, similar to heartburn. I've been having this for the past 24 hours. What could it be?

Answer

Hi Concerned Father,

I recommend you contact your physician for an evaluation. It could be something cardiac-related, but there's no way to know without an exam. Any time you experience chest pain, you should have it looked into, since not all heart attacks are as dramatic as they are on television. They can be much more subtle and still cause a great deal of damage to the heart.
