Sharp Pain On Right Side When Coughing
I have a sharp, stabbing pain in my right side below my ribs, across from my belly button. I can feel it most when I cough, especially when laying down, and when I push out my belly. The pain does not move, and can not be felt unless I do cough or push out my belly. I have not realized any other symptoms.
Answer
Hi Tarh2o,
I'm sure you found an answer to your question already, but there are many things that can cause a sharp pain when you cough. It may be a stitch, a symptom of pleurisy, or pain in the intercostal muscle brought on by too much coughing. Any time you've got a sharp pain it's worth discussing with a doctor.
I hope that helps!
