Would Simvasatin Side Effect Be Coughing?

Answer

Hello Claire,

Simvistatin, brand name Zocor, is a member of the statin class of drugs which lower LDL (or bad) cholesterol.

Side effects of this medication include muscle aches, cramping, fatigue, nausea, and diarrhea. Coughing is not generally speaking a common side effect of simvistatin.

Coughing, especially a dry cough, is a common complaint. You should see your physician if your cough persists for more than a few days or gets worse. As with any new medication, go to the emergency room immediately if you become quickly short of breath or have any new-onset weakness.

To your health,
