As most of you probably know already, Steve Jobs passed away yesterday. He died of pancreatic cancer which is a particularly fatal type of cancer. Some reports say that 95% of the people diagnosed with this cancer will not be alive 5 years later. Steve Jobs survived for seven years past his initial diagnosis. Within that time frame he did some amazing things. I am holding one of his creations right now, the iPad. I am sure most of us have an Apple product in our homes or have used one. This is a man who has revolutionized the way we view and use technology. In some ways Steve Jobs reminds me of Walt Disney in how visionary he was. He had ideas and he made them work. He went beyond the dreamer stage into making those dreams become reality. It is a rare talent to be able to do this.
Steve Jobs was only 56 at the time of his death. It makes you wonder what else he would have done had he more time to live.
I saw this quote from him yesterday and it really resonated with me so I wanted to share it with you all.
I love this quote because it is so true. Some of the most innovative life-changing ideas come from people who may be called “crazy” because they think outside the box.
Who wants to change the world? Raise your hand.
I really think that we can. I think Steve Jobs is right. We all have our little lights to shine. Gifts to give. Ideas and thoughts to share. We might as well try as long as we are here on the planet.
Carpe Diem. Seize the day. Be a little “crazy” and change the world.
**In honor of Steve Jobs, how would you change the world if you could? What is your vision? How would you most like to make a difference? **
