Could The Sun Cause Tingling & Numbness In The Hands?

My daughter is 20 yrs and is having sensations in her hands after being in the sun. This first happened on a vacation to Mexico, after being out in the sun for an extended period of time, her hands began to go numb and experienced a tingling sensation. It didn't happen again till today when she was sitting outside for a couple of hours doing homework and now tonight is experiencing the same sensations? She is currently on an acne medication, could this be the reson? There is no actual sunburn?

Hi Cheryl

I am so sorry I am just now getting back to you.

Please know that I am not a doctor but...I am a patient who has this symptom. I have Multiple Sclerosis. And...the heat can bring on symptoms such as this. I don't want to scare you but did want to share my experience because...sometimes this is one of the first symptoms. It could absolutely be due to other is Medline Plus information about this symptom.

I would write down this symptom...when it happens...and any other symptoms your daughter may be having and take these to a doctor so she can be checked out. Chances are it is nothing but you don't want to take that chance of not getting this looked at by a doctor.

Please let us know what happens. Thank you for your question.
