Do Sunburns Cause Muscles To Stiffen Or Ache?

I have a bad sunburn on my backside and when I wake up in the morning, I cant move my legs because they are so stiff. Is that caused from the sunburn? And if it is how do I treat it?

Hi Ashanti

I am not a doctor but I do know from my experience having sunburns that it can cause stiffness and aches.

Here is our information for sunburn first aid you may want to look at. It suggests that you use an over the counter medication such as Ibuprofen for the pain and some soothing aloe vera gel for the burn. If you develop a fever, chills, nausea, then it may be time to see a doctor.

You may want to elevate your legs to stop the swelling.

If you are concerned you should call your doctor to get medical advice. I hope your burn heals quickly.

Thank you for your question.
