Swedish Government Will Get Busy

Are Swedes having less fun?

According to tabloid reports based on a 2013 survey of 3,000 people, Swedes are having sex less often than they used to.

But is that really true? And if so, why?

The country's government wants to find out for sure. Its investigation, the first official sex survey in two decades, is set to be completed by the Public Health Agency of Sweden by 2019.

"Sex is an area that strongly influences people's health, so we can't just talk about things like, for example, venereal disease, but also things that are positive and lust-filled about sex," Public Health Minister Gabriel Wikstrom says.

He adds that, if Swedes are less sexually active than they used to be, that would be a “political problem” for the government.
