Symptoms Of Heart Attack But Cardiac Enzymes And Ekg Were Normal.

My husband (32years) had symptoms of heart attack (tightness/squeezing in chest, sharp pains in chest, radiating pain in left arm & leg, some mild nausea and light-headed) but no family history. He is on medication for epilepsy (depakote) and anxiety/depression. After about a week of persistent chest pain symptoms I finally got him to call his doctor. We went to the ER per his PCP's instruction, but his cardiac enzymes and EKG were normal. They also took a chest X-ray to rule out pneumonia or other lung issues (he was clear). His father has claimed similar experiences and also checked out in the clear for cardiac enzymes. I'm trying to push him to follow-up with his PCP now... What could this be? The ER physician would not speculate.
