Hi - First, let's understand your family history of breast cancer. A family history that would increase your risk to any great degree would be if your mom was diagnosed before age 50; or if you have a sister with breast cancer. Aunts, cousins, and grandmothers with breast cancer may increase your risk very slightly, but not really enough to worry about, OK?

What you describe sounds very much like cysts. Breast pain is seldom a sign of cancer; and a cancerous tumor is seldom moveable, but instead is fixed in place. Cysts, on the other hand, are very common in women your age; they're moveable, and can be painful.

If you've been experiencing these symptoms for longer than a month, then they qualify as a breast change, and it's time to see a doctor. Odds are these are cysts, but you still want to rule out cancer - which only a doctor and some diagnostic testing can do. Good luck - PJH
