Test For Serotonin Level

Hi, I just spent way too much money that I don't have to spend, but finally went to a naturopathic doctor after trying many many antidepressants and other mood stabilizers. She said I could test my neurotransmitter levels and gave me a box to put some urine and saliva in to send to the center. I didn't know you could do this? She said my insurance would probably cover this test. Should I do it? Has anyone heard of it?

Hi Marishka,

I know you posted this quite awhile ago, but I was wondering if you found a diagnosis and effective treatment? Many people have posted similar questions and I would love to hear from you.

On a personal note, I recently had a saliva test analyzed by a new company. They suggested a treatment option and it has been effective so far (I also seemed to have antidepressant resistance.) The procedure has probably improved over the years, and they tested many genetic factors. You might check with a psychiatrist for more information.
