I Was Tested For Std’s While Taking Cipro
I was tested for STD’s while taking Cipro. The good news is all tests for Chlamydia, Gonorrhea and NGU came back negative. My questions is, since I was three days into the ten days of taking the Cipro when tested, is there a possibility of receiving a false negative test report. If so, what is the proper waiting period to be retested? The health department’s opinion is the test report is accurate in spite of being on Cipro and sees no reason to retest.
Here is some information about the tests they use and about false negatives.
Has your partner been tested? If your partner is found positive for any of these STD’s then this may be a reason to question the results. What were you taking the Cipro for? I would not think that would affect anything but that is a question for your doctor.
I would want to trust what they told you. I suppose if you are still concerned you could get a second opinion.
I hope everything works out for you. Thank you for your question.
