Migraine is a complex disease with myriad possible symptoms, including auditory hallucinations. Some of these symptoms can be frightening; at the least, they're frustrating.   One potential Migraine aura symptom that falls under the heading of frustrating, and perhaps embarrassing, is hiccups. Like Migraine disease, the pathophysiology of hiccups isn’t well understood, but intractable hiccups have been associated with various nervous system causes.

Hiccups were recognized as a Migraine aura symptom only fairly recently, when Chaudry and Friedman presented a research poster at the International Headache Congress in 2013.
