I Threw My Back Out Lifting Too Much, I Felt A Sharp Pinching Pain.

I threw my back out lifting too much, I felt a sharp pinching pain. I went to see a chiropractor and he cracked my back and adjusted me yesterday. Today I feel like he pulled more things needed and I can't moving without screaming in pain. I feel like he made this worst, is this normal or should I stay away from a chiropractor and just do physical therapy ? Also, I have no health care like millions of others. What can I do or take for pain or where can I go to get pain medication ? Thank you and God Bless. Pierre

Sounds like you injured a disc in your low back. A "hot" disc can be made to feel worse with too much pushing, pulling, and tugging by a chiropractor. Here are a few things you can do for yourself:

1. Take the pressure off your discs: Avoiding lifting anything and picking things off the floor and try a zero gravity chair like LaFuma which is available on Amazon.

2. Use an anti-inflammatory if you don't have known stomach or kidney problems. This will help relieve the swelling in the back. Ice and heat work well too.

3. Buy and read the book called "Treat Your Own Back Pain" by Robin Mckenzie also on Amazon

4. Read my article called "First Aid ABC's of Treating Back Pain"

Don't panic discs heal naturally if you take proper care of your back and give it time.
