Answer

Robert,

Thanks for your posted question. Your CK (Creatinine Kinase) level is only mildly elevated above the normal of 200. This may be due to the Crestor or may have been a pre-existing situation. It sounds like your doctor is aware of this and is keeping an eye on the level. Doctors worry about the this level when is increases to several hundred (and higher), which can happen when people react negatively to the Statin class of drugs used to treat high cholesterol levels, in this case, Crestor.

Your Cholesterol and LDL levels look great. Your HDL level is low normal. The HDL or "good cholesterol" gives us an idea of a patient's risk for heart disease. The higher the HDL, the lower the risk. A regular exercise program would be helpful to get this a bit higher.

Please review this website to learn of other ways to improve your blood levels of HDL, as well as Cholesterol and LDL. This information and education will go well with your doctor's treatment.

Best wishes.
