Answer

Tridural is an extended release drug and should last for 24 hours. Perhaps I'm reading this wrong but I don't know why the doctor would give you 100 mgs if he/she intends you to take 300 mgs/day since there are 300 mg formulations of Tridural available. (Are you asking if you should take 3 100 mg tablets in the morning?)

You should never break up an extended release tablet - particularly if it's an opioid drug - because that will result in 24 hours worth of the drug going into your system at once - a dangerous situation particularly since you are at the maximum allowable dosage per day.

In any case Tridural is meant to be taken once a day - so you should be fine taking 300 mgs once in the morning.

By the way, several websites state you should never abruptly up your dosage from 100-300 mgs; instead Tridural dosage should be upped by 100 mgs every 2-5 days.
