Can you get herpes from sharing a drink with a person who has it?
It’s possible to pass oral herpes through saliva, which means that you can contract the virus by sharing eating utensils or a straw. Herpes simplex can’t live outside the body for very long, however, so you’re less likely to get it from sharing a drink with someone than from kissing them.
