Can Using Crutches Cause An Under Arm Swollen Lymph Node.

I have recently suffered pain in shoulders, back, bruised underarms from using crutches. Now I have a swollen lump under my arm. Can using crutches cause your lymph nodes to swell or become damaged.?

Answer

I'd imagine crutches might cause soreness in your underams, and possibly some swelling. If it's a painful lump, it might be an unrelated infection. If you're off the crutches, and the lump doesn't go away within a week or so; or if it becomes larger/more painful, you should see a doctor to see what's causing the problem, OK? In the meantime, please read our post on armpit lumps. Good luck - PJH
