What Over The Counter Med Can Be Taken To Reduce High Blood Pressure For A Quick Ffix Until Medication Can Be Taken Or To See My Family Doctor
What over-the-counter med can be taken to reduce high blood pressure for a quick fix until medication can be taken or I can see my family doctor? I went for a physcial and I was told my blood pressure was high. I haven't been to my family doctor yet. What can I take in the time being?
I've attached an article that discusses possible options for you. OTC MEDS Diet and lifestyle changes is a huge thing that can effect blood pressure. Here is a link to information in regards to this, How to Lower My Blood Pressure With Lifestyle Changes
It is best for you to check with your doctor before starting any medications, you can call them and ask via phone until you are able to see your doctor in person. You could also use your pharmacist as a resource.
I also recommend you double checking your blood pressure. It may have been elevated because of you being at your physical. You may not normally run high otherwise. Many times patients can come into the office and their blood pressure runs high just because they are at the doctor's, referred to "white coat syndrome." So most times the doctor will ask them to monitor their blood pressure at home for a time period to see what is more normal for the patient.
Also, how high was your blood pressure? Below is the AHA guidelines

Stage II-Systolic: 160 or higher or Diastolic: 100 or higher
