What Is The Diffence Between Senokot-s And Miralax

Hello alba mondezie,

The quick answer to your questions is not much, as they are both laxitives. But there are some differences in action.

Senokot-s is the brand name of a combination of senna and docusate. Senna is a medication that can help cause the intermittant contractions in the digestive tract known as perstalsis. Docusate helps make stool softer by essentially keeping some of the water you eat and drink in your digestive tract.

Miralax is made of a single medication, polyethylene glycol, which is a stool softener that also helps keep water in the stool, albeit in a bit different fashion that docusate.

Hope this helps.

To you health,

Neil MD
