What Is The Difference In Lorcet Plus (7.5-650) And Percocet (7.5-325 Mg)?

I broke my ankle 4 months ago and developed blood clots. I'm still having considerable pain. My surgeon prescribed Percocet initially then Lorcet Plus. I would like to know the difference and also I would like info. on Darvocet.

Answer

The Percocet is 7.5 mg of oxycodone combined with 325 mg of acetaminophen. Lorcet Plus is 7.5 mg of hydrocodone combined with 650 mg of acetaminophen. Darvocet is propoxyphene napsylate combined with acetaminophen. All three are opioid medications. The acetaminophen in each is there to help boost the effectiveness of the opioid. As far as strength goes, chemically, Percocet is the strongest and Darvocet the weakest -; however, everyone responds differently. For example, for some people Lorcet may be more effective than Percocet.
