What is the formula to calculate the percentage of triglyceride reference to total cholesterol?

Answer

Hi Odi,

The formula to calculate total cholesterol:

Total cholesterol = HDL + LDL + VLDL

VLDL = Triglycerides x 0.20

So, rearrange the formula to calculate triglycerides:

VLDL = Total cholesterol - HDL - LDL

VLDL divided by 0.20 = Triglycerides
