What Happens If One Stops Forteo For 20 Days, Then Starts Back Taking It Again?

If a person travels overseas, then, goes on a tour, he is not always able to refrigerate Forteo within, say, 8 or 10 hours after arrival. Even though he might store it on the plane in a cold place, it might not be possible on a motorcoach, etc. where it could even get hot. So, can one, on trips of this nature, rather than worry about it, or ruin his medicine, just not take it for 20 days? What would happen if one stopped taking it for 20 days, then started back when he returned?

Answer

Hi Donna, welcome... It's best to check with your doc on this question to see if it will be OK. Others who've had this problem did skip a week or two and didn't have any problems. I had to stop Forteo for a month and it didn't pose any risk either. But to be sure, ask your doc since he/she would know the answer for sure.

Good luck and Bon Voyage!
