What Are The Health Implications Of Triglyceride Level Of 26mg/dl Which Is Too Low In 22 Years Male?

Hello, I am a 22 years old male healthy, but underweight 57 kg , 173cm.

I had blood tests to check my lipid profile it turned out to be:

LDL cholesterol 58 (desirable 60-130) low a bit

HDL cholesterol 51 (desirable more than 45 ) which is good

Total cholesterol 114 (desirable 120-200) again low a bit

Triglycerides 26 !!!! (30- 200 )

Is having a low triglyceride level a bad thing?

Answer

Hi Danzel,

A few different conditions potentially linked to lower triglycerides include malnutrition, hyperthyroidism, and malabsorption. Low triglycerides may not be a concern. Discuss with your physician. If your physician feels there is potential for health implications they will complete further testing.
