What Is A Fibroglandular Tissue

Hi - This is breast tissue that's not fat, but instead is the connective tissue and the glands, ducts, etc. that make up your breast. Sometimes you'll get an overdevelopment of fibroglandular tissue, and it'll show up as "suspicious" on a mammogram. If the tissue becomes too prominent, it can develop into a fibroadenoma, which is a benign (non-cancerous) breast tumor. But either way, fibroglandular tissue isn't cancer, even though it can sometimes look/feel like it. Good luck - PJH
