SINCE 2 MONTHS I HAVE DID REGULAR BLOOD PRESSURE TESTS AND READINGS....THESE READINGS FLUCTUATED BETWEEN..130/90...140/90 SOME 130/80...AND ONE TIME I DID A READING THAT WAS 170/110 WHICH I NEVER HAD BEFORE ALTHOUGH I HAVE MADE REGULAR READINGS FOR 3 WEEKS. MOREOVER, IM A PROF AT THE UNIVERSITY ...DOES GIVING LECTURES AFFECTS THE INCREASE OF BLOOD PRESSURE..

Blood pressure goals should be 120/80.

Stress - which I imagine you have a considerable amount of as a college professor - can absolutely cause fluctuations in blood pressure.

You should bring up with your physician that your blood pressure widely fluctuates. Also, you should bring him a copy of the home blood pressure readings you are taking. While you may be able to control your mildly elevated blood pressure with diet and exercise alone, your physician may want to prescribe medication. If you experience a significant amount of anxiety when public speaking, a blood pressure medication like a beta-blocker may help with both your blood pressure and nerves.
