Why Does My Lower Back And My Hips Hurt Every Morning When I Wake Up?

Could it be my mattress that is making my lower back and my hips hurt so bad when I wake up every morning?

When I wake up, every single morning, I can barely move. My lower back and the upper outside part of my hips hurt so bad, I can hardly stand it.

After Ive been up for a couple of hours, the pain lessens, but never really goes away.

My bed blows. Its old, its not very firm, and sometimes the parts of my body that contact the bed, "fall asleep", and go numb.

I dont do heavy lifting, I have no medical conditions, (that I know of), that would cause this anguish.

I often read myself to sleep, with a couple of pillows propping my head, but I remove one, and lower my neck, before I go to sleepsville.

Could something as simple as a new mattress help with this?

Thanks for your help

Answer

Russell,

Your bed certainly is one possible cause of your pain. That kind of pain isn't really in our realm here on the MyDepressionConnection. You might find more information on our sister site ChronicPainConnection.com.

Good luck,
