Worried About Librium

If I took 2 5mg tablets of Librium how long would it stay in my stystem?

Hi Strikerepa,

Librium is a long acting benzodiazepine (it was the first in this class to be developed). There are two measure of Librium in the body, the drug itself in your bloodstream and the "active benzodiazepine metabolite" which is what the drug does once it is in your body.

The "half-life" of a drug refers to how long it probably takes for half of the drug to be out of your system. The half life of Librium is estimated to be 5-30 hours, but the half-life of the active metabolite is estimated to be 36-200 hours. There will be a number of half-lifes before the drug is completely out of your system, so with Librium there could very possibly be traces of it at 30-35 days.
