I did the x-ray to know were a blood stained Sputum i always cough out comes from. Thank you

Answer

Hi Ola,

The aortic knob is formed by a portion of the aortic arch and descending aorta, kind of a shadow that appears in xrays. A prominence may be caused by positioning during the xray, but there is potential it is caused by something else, such as the pressure within the aorta. I recommend discussing your xray further with your doctor to ensure you understand the results.

All the best,
