I told my mom today and I’m getting an appointment very soon. I know it’s very rare for my age but when showing my mom, she looked quite concerned. I’m hoping for the best but should I be concerned?
Congratulations for taking responsibility for your health like this, at such a young age; it’s a skill you’ll need more and more as you grow older.
Luckily, at your age, your chances of having breast cancer are probably well under 1 in a million. I’d guess this is a fibroadenoma, or some other harmless, temporary condition; still, I’m glad you’re going to see a doctor, to absolutely rule out breast cancer.
t’s really tough not to worry, but please read our message to teens and our guide to breast development for teenagers; I think both of those posts will help lower your stress level a bit, as you wait for your appointment. Take care- PJH
