Are Zestril And Norvasc Safe To Be Taken Together?

Norvasc 10 mg/Zestril 20 mg

Hello D. middleton,

Norvasc (aka amlodipine) and Zestril (aka lisinopril) are okay to take together. In fact a combination medication between amlodipine and benazepril (a very similar medication) exists. Studies show that amlodipine and an ace inhibitor like lisinopril lower blood pressure significantly more than either medication alone.

Of course, the contra-indications and side effects of the individual drugs persist if taking both drugs together.

Be sure to discuss your blood pressure concerns with your physician at your next visit!

To your health,

Neil MD
