Shalika Katugaha, M.D., FACP is board-certified in infectious diseases. She is currently working as a Senior Clinical and Research Development Lead at GlaxoSmithKline at the Slaoui Center for Vaccine Research. Prior to her current role, she worked as an infectious disease physician at Inova Fairfax Hospital for 10 years and served as Medical Director of Transplant/Mechanical Circulatory Support Infectious Diseases from 1/2014-5/2020 and the Infectious Diseases Section Chief from 1/2014-12/2019. She received her undergraduate and medical degree from Georgetown University and completed her residency and infectious diseases fellowship at Georgetown as well. She has published in several professional medical journals and has given presentations at national specialty meetings. She enjoys teaching—from medical students to fellows—and has received numerous teaching awards.
